While much of his prophecy focused on the sins and restoration of Israel, Ezekiel also recorded detailed oracles against surrounding nations. God declared: \u201cBecause thou saidst, Aha, against my sanctuary\u2026 behold, therefore I will deliver thee to the men of the east for a possession\u201d (<a>Ezekiel 25:3\u20134<\/a>).<\/p>\n \n<p class=\"\">Ammon\u2019s sin was schadenfreude\u2014mocking God\u2019s people in their suffering. Their judgment was conquest by foreign invaders. This reminds us that gloating over others\u2019 downfall invites God\u2019s wrath.<\/p>\n \n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Judgment on Moab<\/h4>\n \n<p class=\"\">Moab belittled Judah, claiming its people were like any other nation. God responded: \u201cBehold, I will open the side of Moab\u2026 unto the men of the east\u201d (<a>Ezekiel 25:9\u201310<\/a>).<\/p>\n \n<p class=\"\">Moab\u2019s sin was denying Israel\u2019s uniqueness as God\u2019s covenant people. God declared: \u201cBecause that Edom hath dealt against the house of Judah by taking vengeance\u2026 I will also stretch out mine hand upon Edom\u201d (<a>Ezekiel 25:12\u201313<\/a>).<\/p>\n \n<p class=\"\">Edom\u2019s sin was perpetual hostility against their brother nation. God raised up Israel itself as an instrument of judgment against Edom (<a>Ezekiel 25:14<\/a>).<\/p>\n \n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Judgment on Philistia<\/h4>\n \n<p class=\"\">The Philistines acted \u201cwith despiteful heart, to destroy it for the old hatred\u201d (<a>Ezekiel 25:15<\/a>). Their centuries-long hostility toward Israel led to destruction. The prophecy even predicted that Tyre would be scraped bare like a rock, becoming a place for spreading nets (<a>Ezekiel 26:14<\/a>). History confirms that Alexander the Great later fulfilled this prophecy by scraping rubble into the sea to build a causeway.<\/p>\n \n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Fall of Tyre\u2019s King<\/h4>\n \n<p class=\"\">In Ezekiel 28, the prophet described the king of Tyre with imagery that goes beyond a human ruler: \u201cThou hast been in Eden the garden of God\u2026 thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee\u201d (<a>Ezekiel 28:13\u201315<\/a>).<\/p>\n \n<p class=\"\">This dual prophecy may reflect both the arrogance of Tyre\u2019s king and the pride of Satan himself.
