Scripture speaks directly to these limits: \u201cThe secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us\u201d (<a>Deuteronomy 29:29<\/a>). This article explores where science stops, and how the <strong>evidence<\/strong> points beyond to the supernatural.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Domain of Science<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Science is a powerful method of inquiry. It excels at:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"\">Explaining <strong>mechanisms<\/strong>: how gravity shapes planets, or how DNA codes proteins.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Making <strong>predictions<\/strong>: eclipses, chemical reactions, or disease spread.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\">Developing <strong>technology<\/strong>: medicine, space exploration, and communication.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Scripture encourages studying creation: \u201cThe works of the LORD are great, sought out of all them that have pleasure therein\u201d (<a>Psalm 111:2<\/a>). Science alone cannot provide ultimate wisdom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Naturalistic Boundary<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Many scientists adopt <strong>methodological naturalism<\/strong>\u2014the assumption that only natural explanations are allowed. A cause outside nature\u2014eternal and powerful\u2014must have initiated it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Origin of Life<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Science has not explained how nonliving chemicals became the first cell. All known life depends on DNA\u2019s coded information, but no natural mechanism generates code from chaos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Job asked: \u201cWho hath put wisdom in the inward parts? or who hath given understanding to the heart?\u201d (<a>Job 38:36<\/a>). Life\u2019s information testifies to God\u2019s wisdom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Origin of Consciousness<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\"><strong>Materialism<\/strong> claims the brain produces the mind. But subjective experience, rational thought, and free will resist reduction to matter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Scripture affirms humans are more than physical: \u201cAnd the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul\u201d (<a>Genesis 2:7<\/a>). Consciousness reflects the soul, given by God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Morality and Meaning<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Science describes what <em>is<\/em> but cannot dictate what <em>ought<\/em> to be. Morality is not a law of physics. Yet humans universally recognize right and wrong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Paul wrote: \u201cWhich shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness\u201d (<a>Romans 2:15<\/a>). Conscience points beyond biology to God\u2019s moral law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Mystery and Humility<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Both science and faith acknowledge mystery. This reduces humans to machines and denies God.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"\"><strong>Misapplied fundamentalism<\/strong>: forcing Scripture into scientific categories it was not meant to address, leading to unnecessary conflict.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">The biblical path is balanced\u2014affirming both God\u2019s Word and God\u2019s world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Christ as the Key<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Ultimately, the boundary between science and the supernatural points to Christ. \u201cBy him were all things created\u2026 and by him all things consist\u201d (<a>Colossians 1:16\u201317<\/a>). He is both Creator and Sustainer. Science reveals His handiwork; Scripture reveals His person.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Conclusion<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"\">Science is powerful but limited. It explains mechanisms but not meaning, processes but not purpose. Evidence at the boundaries of science\u2014the origins of the universe, life, and consciousness\u2014points beyond nature to the supernatural. Scripture identifies the Designer as the God of creation, revealed in Jesus Christ.
